The Scenario:
Sunday, my second day in NYC for fashion week, was freezing!
When I say it was freezing, that isn’t just some warm-blooded Texan who isn’t accustomed to cold temperatures exaggerating the state of affairs. News outlets reported that it was the coldest day in 20+ years in NYC. Temperatures never got out of the teens, plus winds were over 50 miles per hour at times! The combination of cold and wind literally made my skin hurt during the brief moments I was outside. The cold was absolutely brutal.
The day involved only a couple fashion shows, which was great, as it left plenty of time to visit with friends in person. It was the perfect day for chats over coffee at Ralph’s Coffee and conversations over ramen at Momofuku Noodle Bar.
The Look:
Given the weather conditions, this look was definitely all about practicality! A fur coat, plus a turtleneck, plus pants, plus boots, plus a hat (which kept blowing off in the strong winds), plus lots of layers underneath were all necessities.
