The Designer : Lisa Marie Fernandez
If you’ve been around Wear + Where + Well for any length of time, you probably already know I’m part of the Lisa Marie Fernandez cult. I first mentioned her in the first few months of publishing here, back in early 2015. You might have even noticed a photo of me in her swimwear just last Friday. Well, with summer upon us, I felt compelled to both add a Lisa Marie Fernandez piece to my summer wardrobe and to sing her praises again here.
New York based stylist-turned-designer Lisa Marie Fernandez launched her eponymous line in 2009, and she has since been revolutionizing luxury swimwear, beachwear, and activewear. Her designs somehow combine old school glamour with a bit of athleticism. With everything from futuristic bonded fabrics to timeless seersucker fabrics, Lisa creates feminine and flattering designs.
In past seasons, I’ve focused on Lisa Marie Fernandez’s swimwear. Specifically, I’ve found the wrap style bikinis to be so unique and so flattering that I got it in two color ways. I continue to wear them season after season. I also have a flounce bikini which perfectly embraces both the off-the-shoulder and ruffle trends that are so popular still this season.
But for this summer, I opted to add this pastel seersucker dress to my wardrobe. I just can’t help but smile and twirl when I don this dress! I also finally decided to try out some lace-up sandals. It’s a different look for me, and you know I love experimenting with fashion. They’re a little fussy for me to put on, but once they are on, I love them. I love LMF as well, I have a few of her swimsuits. Would love some of the resort pieces. Ugh I feel the same about those kinds of shoes, love them but the process is the worst haha.
